MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A suspect is in custody after leading Milwaukee Police on a chase with an infant in the car Thursday night.
Authorities say it happened around 9:10 p.m. when officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle. The car was suspected of being involved in a crime.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle near Lisbon and Sherman Blvd. and terminated the pursuit. Shortly after, officers found the car after it had hit a light pole near W. Lisbon Ave. and N. 40th St.
The driver was seen running away from the car while holding an infant child.
Police say the suspect was eventually taken into custody. The child was also recovered unharmed. The infant was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. The driver and a passenger in the front seat were also taken to the hospital.
