Suspect accused in Barron County officer killings had warrant tied to child support payments

BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 has obtained an arrest warrant issued for the suspect accused of fatally shooting two police officers in Barron County. The warrant -- filed just days before the shooting -- shows the order for 50-year-old Glenn Perry's arrest was tied to child support payments in an ongoing divorce case.

Perry is accused of killing two police officers during a traffic stop on Saturday, April 8. The stop was initiated because a warrant was issued March 30 for a welfare check on Perry after concerning behavior was reported.

A shootout with two officers occurred during the traffic stop. The officers -- identified as 32-year-old Emily Breidenbach of the Chetek Police Department and 23-year-old Hunter Scheel of the Cameron Police Department -- were pronounced dead at the scene. Perry later died at a hospital.
