'Summer Fun Kick-Off' at Children's Museum of Fond du Lac to introduce fun and new exhibits

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A beginning to the summer season awaits families at the Children's Museum of Fond du Lac with the announcement of its Summer Fun Kick-Off event.

Yard games, water exploration and a bounce house are just some of the anticipated highlights set to entertain all age groups.

The kick-off event is scheduled for Friday, June 16 at 4 p.m., continuing until 7 p.m.

The first 500 children in attendance will be gifted a complimentary limited-edition beach ball. Additionally, all CMFDL member families will have the opportunity to bring a guest at half price.

The occasion also marks the grand unveiling of new StemPlay and Percussion Play outdoor equipment, donated by BCI Burke. A press release issued on Thursday, June 15 noted that the addition aims to integrate concepts of science and engineering into child-oriented play, promoting intellectual growth as well as physical, emotional and mental health.

Both areas are located within the museum's "WinnePLAYgo" outdoor space.

In order to host this multifaceted event, the museum will operate at an extended schedule of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

The museum's Art Explorers program will proceed as scheduled at 11 a.m., followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
