Sturtevant Dental Clinic Offered Teeth Cleanings for Children for Free

February is 'Children's Dental Health Month' and today a clinic in Sturtevant welcomed seven children for a teeth cleaning and exam, along with any other treatments they might need all free of charge.

They call it "Give Kids a Smile Day.”

The kids were sent there by Racine County Human Services.

"The patients I like to see is when they come in you can tell they're a little afraid and when they look at you they kind of hold their mouth away because they don't want you to see their teeth and they don't want you to look at them.  And then after you work with them one or two visits, all of a sudden you see the real child start to come out and it's really nice to see that,” said one dentist.

The "Dental Associates" clinics in Sturtevant, Racine and the Milwaukee area are also visiting schools this month to teach thousands of kids how to take care of their teeth.
