State Patrol plans aerial enforcement of traffic laws in Kenosha, Walworth counties

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol is planning to use aircraft and ground-based officers both this week and next, to enforce speed limits and other traffic laws in Kenosha and Walworth counties.

According to the Department of Transportation, aerial enforcement missions are planned for:

  • Thursday, July 23 along I-94 in Kenosha County
  • Tuesday, July 28, along I-43 in Walworth County

“We often announce enforcement efforts like this to emphasize that the goal is public safety through voluntary compliance with traffic laws – not to stop or cite motorists,” said Captain Anne Maxson from the State Patrol’s Southeast Region.

The department says State Patrol identifies highways for enforcement initiatives based on traffic citations, crash reports and related information.
