St. Francis Police recover van full of stolen property after suspect fled on foot

ST. FRANCIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- St Francis Police officers were able to recover a van full of stolen property.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of S. Iowa Ave. after a resident called to report that items were missing from his vehicle.

It happened shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers located a stolen minivan being operated by a male suspect in dark clothing. The suspect jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot. Police were unable to locate him.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and found to be full of stolen property.

Police believe the suspect began entering vehicles and garages on the southeast side of Milwaukee (Howard/JHowell area) and worked his way east into the City of St. Francis.

Police have already taken numerous reports of garage burglaries and thefts from vehicles in those areas.

Police are also looking for any information about the suspect.
