Sprecherfest returns with tapping of the seasonal Pub Ale at Bavarian Bierhaus

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Sprecherfest returns this weekend, running Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12 at Bavarian Bierhaus. Sprecher and Bavarian Bierhaus have teamed up to celebrate Milwaukee’s German heritage. 

The two businesses have been combining their shared love of German fare since nearly 40 years ago. 

"The event used to take place all through the 80s and 90s, said Josh Neureuther, the general manager at Bavarian Bierhaus. "Last year we wanted to bring it back and it was super successful so we're going to keep doing it." 

Sprecherfest will be full of German beer, food, and music. 

A special Pub Ale is being tapped for the first time since 1996. Sprecher and Bavarian Bierhaus collaborated to make the beer in house at Bavarian Bierhaus. 

"We took a classic recipe, a fan favorite from back in the day,  took a 90s recipe, our head brewer took that recipe gave it to Jacob here at Bavarian," said Tim Cigelske, the director of communications, Sprecher Brewing Company. 

Beer will be free during the tapping.
