Spirit Airlines adds nonstop flight from MKE to Myrtle Beach

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Spirit Airlines is adding a new destination to its growing list of nonstop flights out of Milwaukee this summer.

Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport has announced a new, nonstop flight to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a flight time of just over two hours.

The summer seasonal service to/from Myrtle Beach will be offered on Fridays and Mondays beginning May 27 and expand to three times per week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) beginning June 17.

The service will continue through Labor Day weekend.

“These new flights are a fast and reliable way to enjoy a family vacation along the Atlantic seaboard,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik said. “With the addition of Myrtle Beach, it’s clear that Spirit is responding to customer demand from Milwaukee. The more we all start and end our trips at MKE, the more air service we will see in the months and years to come.”

Mitchell International says Myrtle Beach is the ninth nonstop destination for Spirit from MKE.

The airline launched its Milwaukee service in June of last year, with daily nonstop flights from MKE to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Orlando.  By the end of 2021, Spirit was also flying nonstop to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Tampa, Phoenix and Cancun.

Tickets are available for purchase now on spirit.com and the Spirit Airlines mobile app.
