Speed believed to be factor in crash that killed 24-year-old Elkhorn man
WALWORTH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Walworth County Sheriff's Office received a report of a serious single vehicle crash on Dam Road in the Town of Sugar Creek.
It happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle with extensive damage off the roadway.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Buick, driven by 24-year-old Jeff Myers of Elkhorn, was northbound on Dam road when he lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times, hitting numerous trees.
Myers was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His 30-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
According to the Sheriff's Office, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
