Some UWM students and fans against tearing down UWM Panther Arena

It's no secret the Milwaukee Bucks will have to leave the BMO Harris Bradley Center, and build a new arena if the organization wants to stay in town.

There are a few options on the table including where the UWM Panther Arena is located, and some students are not happy about the idea.

The BMO Harris Bradley Center and the UWM Panther Arena are literally next door to each other, and it could be logical for the Bucks organization to rebuild in the same area downtown.

However, members of the students association at UWM aren't on board.

\"My concern is we're going to lose our arena\", said UWM student Evan Braun.

The students association put on a small protest at Wednesday night's home game to help get the word out.

\"They got more money”, said UWM student Ryan Sorenson. “It's like we're the little guy, getting taking advantage of.\"

It's important to note other options for a new arena include the Journal Communications Building.

Some feel the location of the UWM Panther Arena at 4th Street and Kilbourn is a prime spot to connect with fans and the City of Milwaukee.

\"Bringing more of the campus down here, downtown I think is a really good way to get more integrated with the community and improving the UWM's presence and Milwaukee\", said UWM student Carla Grevy.

A Buck's spokesman sent CBS 58 this statement:

\"We are continuing to explore different site locations. Even though we don't have a confirmed location, we value our relationship with UWM and feel it's important to have an open dialogue with all the key stakeholders. We believe this is an opportunity to do something transformative that will positively impact every organization in the city.\"
