Snow expected to miss the area again

If you don’t want snow in late March, it looks like you dodged another bullet. A clipper system which could produce a stripe of heavy snowfall will move just to our south and west.

The snow swath will stretch from the Dakotas all the way to Iowa and Illinois, and through parts of southwestern Wisconsin. There’s a very slight chance of a mix or light snow to clip the extreme southwestern part of southeastern Wisconsin. The way things are trending, the SW part of the state will be the only impacted area.

The snowfall has been below average for the month and the season. In fact, we were on pace to be above normal in February this year and well above what we saw last year, but the dry spell took over.  This is the third system to miss the area in the last week or so.  Hudson Bay high pressure in Canada has been the contributing factor to the drier conditions.
