(CBS 58) – Several communities in southeast Wisconsin have declared snow emergencies or put parking restrictions in place due to a forecasted snowstorm Tuesday into Wednesday.

MILWAUKEE - The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) has called for an overnight snow clearing operation for the entire city for Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 23. All residents who park overnight on a Milwaukee street must move their vehicles to the EVEN numbered side of the street by 11 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Jan. 22 through 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Residents must then move their vehicles again on Wednesday, Jan. 23 by 11 p.m. to the ODD numbered side of the street through Thursday morning, Jan. 24. City residents are reminded that the posted street sign takes precedence in all areas of the city. Residents who had garbage or recycling containers normally scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday are to place their containers to the curb Thursday until they have been picked up. Tuesday automated routes, however, will continue until the end of the shift. No garbage/recycling collection will take place Wednesday. For complete information, please click here. 

WEST MILWAUKEE - The Village of West Milwaukee has issued a snow emergency beginning Wednesday at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday. During a snow emergency parking is prohibited on all major emergency thoroughfares for the duration of the emergency. In addition, parking will be limited to the odd side of all other streets. Any vehicles in violation of the parking restrictions during a snow emergency will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

WEST ALLIS - The City of West Allis has issued a snow emergency beginning Tuesday, January 22 at 6 p.m. and will conclude on Wednesday, January 23 at 6 p.m. Parking restrictions are in effect. During a snow emergency parking is prohibited on all major emergency thoroughfares for the duration of the emergency. In addition, parking is limited to one side of all other streets. Any vehicles in violation of the parking restrictions during a snow emergency will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Due to the inclement weather, recycling and trash pick-up may be impacted.

WAUWATOSA - The City of Wauwatosa has declared a snow emergency starting at 8:00 a.m. January 23. It will be in effect until 7:00 a.m. January 24. 

KENOSHA - A snow emergency will go into effect at 12:00 a.m. January 23 for the city of Kenosha.

GREENDALE - The Village of Greendale is declaring a snow emergency beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23 and ending at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24. No motor vehicle shall be parked and no commercial or industrial vehicle loaded or unloaded on any public street, alley or highway in the Village during this period. Please remember that vehicles left on the street after declaration of a snow emergency are subject to being plowed in or towed at the owner’s expense. If parking is needed the municipal parking lots are available.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE - A Snow Emergency has been declared in the Village of Pleasant Prairie beginning at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and remaining in effect until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019. During a Snow Emergency, no parking is allowed on Village Streets. All Snow Emergency parking restrictions will be enforced throughout this time period.

NORWAY - The Town of Norway has declared a snow emergency until 12:00 p.m. January, 23. 

GRAFTON - The Village of Grafton has declared a snow emergency beginning at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 22 and in effect through 7:00 AM Wednesday morning, January 23. 

FORT ATKINSON - The City of Fort Atkinson is declaring a snow emergency effective from 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23.
