Snow causes multiple crashes across Milwaukee, Racine County

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- Dozens of crashes across the freeway system Sunday.  The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office responded to 46 incidents between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm Sunday.  Nearly 30 of those involved injuries.

A massive pileup at 894 & Greenfield Avenue snarled traffic for hours.

\"They're really bad,\" Sommer Brunzelle said.  \"I was in four-wheel drive, four high and it's bad. 43 was like completely blocked off, I had to take Greenfield, even that took longer than it should.\"

\"Slow, the pace is slow,\" Diane Garces said. \"There's ambulances going the opposite way to go take care of people. It's really really bad.\"

The Sheriff's Office reminds people to wear their seatbelt. The deadly crash at I-43 and Highway 100 involved a person being ejected and dying because they didn't have a seatbelt on.
