Shorewood woman charged with hate crime after spitting on teen waives preliminary hearing

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The 64-year-old woman accused of spitting on a teen during a Black Lives Matter protest in Shorewood waived her preliminary hearing Friday, July 24.

Stephanie Rapkin, a Mequon-based tax and estate attorney, was charged with a hate crime of disorderly conduct.

The incident happened last month.

According to a criminal complaint, Rapkin spit at 17-year-old Eric Lucas and her saliva struck Lucas in his face and mouth area and on the top of his shirt.

Rapkin is due back in court for her arraignment on Wednesday, July 29.
