Shooting Victim Drives Himself to Police Station

A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was the victim of an early morning shooting in Milwaukee Wednesday. 

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the shooting apparently occurred in the area of N Doctor M.L.K. Drive and W Keefe Avenue around 2:40 AM. 

The Police report that the man then drove himself to the area of N Doctor M.L.K. Drive and W Locust Street, which is very near the District 5 Police Headquarters.  The man and his vehicle were actually found in front of the Martin Luther King Library. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to a lower extremity.  His condition is not known.   The circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated.
