Shields, Packers reportedly reach agreement on 4-year contract

GREEN BAY - The Packers have reached an agreement with impending free agent cornerback Sam Shields on a four-year contract worth $39 million, according to ESPN reports.

Shields' agent has confirmed the contract, which reportedly includes a $12.5 million signing bonus, on Twitter.

With the signing, the Packers have addressed the need to keep their top cornerback in-house. Teams can begin announcing free agent signings on the 11th.

Shields had four interceptions in 14 games, including a pick against the Dallas Cowboys that helped the Packers to a comeback win on the road.
