MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office partnered with six other organizations and businesses to make sure families in need get a full Thanksgiving dinner for free.
Deputies and Sheriff Denita Ball went shopping at Metcalfe's for turkeys, stuffing, green beans, potatoes, and the rest of the fixings.
"This is just the time of the year where we see the greatest need," Sheriff Ball said. "And we want to be a partner in this community because we're a part of the community and we think this is important."
Deputies will finish packing everything up at the Washington Park Urban Ecology Center Friday, and on Saturday, 125 families will get to pick up their Thanksgiving dinner kits.
