Shelds, Williams appear to have avoided serious injury

Lost in the shuffle of Aaron Rodgers' latest amazing comeback was an injury bug that struck two of the Packers top defensive backs just moments apart Sunday.

Sam Shields fell to the ground untouched before a play and had to leave the game with a knee injury. A few plays later, Tramon Williams was landed on by Packers linebacker Brad Jones and suffered an ankle injury.

Shields told reporters after Sunday's game that he did not have a torn patellar tendon. Tramon Williams reportedly only has \"some swelling\" in his knee. Those two bits of news would indicate the injuries to both Shields and Williams are not severe.

Mike McCarthy did not have a timetable for either player during his Monday press conference, but says he should know more about both players by Wednesday. The Packers defensive faces a tough test Sunday with Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers coming to town.
