SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 23-year-old Sheboygan man was killed in a shooting Thursday, Feb. 6.

Sheboygan police say it happened near 10th and Clara Avenue around 2:20 p.m.

An 18-year-old male suspect is in custody on homicide-related charges.

A 17-year-old female is in custody on drug-related charges.

Police do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Officers say the suspect and victim knew each other, and that this was not a random shooting.

Sergeant Joel Kuszynski of the Sheboygan Police Department says crimes like this are very uncommon in the city.

"We don't have homicides in Sheboygan very often," he said. "It's a rare occurrence for us, at least for an intentional homicide like this. What we want the public to know is that Sheboygan's a very safe community."

Police are withholding the identity of the victim for now.

Sheboygan becomes more and more disgusting by the day. How can they say this is the first homicide in 3 years? Did they already forget about the murder in the enterprise/bank parking lot last year? Not murders, but what about the shooting on 10th and superior last year? Or the shooting at King park 2 years ago? Or scumbags fighting and shooting each other over on 19th and Georgia last year? Or the shooting over on 13th and Broadway two years ago? Anyone that has lived in Sheboygan long enough can see the direction this city is headed.
