SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 23-year-old Sheboygan man was killed in a shooting Thursday, Feb. 6.

Sheboygan police say it happened near 10th and Clara Avenue around 2:20 p.m.

A 17-year-old female is in custody on drug-related charges.

Police do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Officers say the suspect and victim knew each other, and that this was not a random shooting.

Sergeant Joel Kuszynski of the Sheboygan Police Department says crimes like this are very uncommon in the city.

"We don't have homicides in Sheboygan very often," he said. "It's a rare occurrence for us, at least for an intentional homicide like this. What we want the public to know is that Sheboygan's a very safe community."

Police are withholding the identity of the victim for now.
