WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Nonprofit groups are facing a challenge these days.

How do you raise funds during a pandemic? Many have held their annual galas virtually.

SHARP Literacy faced that question and went a different route.

They're calling this year's event "Caravan of Curiosity."

Every Wednesday in February, SHARP is hosting different, interactive events online.

We went to The Chef's Table in Walker's Point to get a sneak peek.

Participants for this event on Feb. 24 will get a box of pastas and sauces delivered to their home, and they can cook alongside Chef David Magnasco.

"We looked at our mission and we looked at what we're all about and we're all about curiosity and engagement and interactive," said Lynda Kohler, CEO and president of SHARP Literacy.

"It's a great way for people that can't get together right now to still be together actively, doing stuff together, and I just fell in love with the idea right away," said Chef Magnasco, owner of The Chef's Table.

SHARP will reach more than 5,000 kids this semester through its urban literacy and STEAM-based programs.

CBS 58's Natalie Shepherd will be emceeing The Chef's Table event on the 24th.

Other hosts include former Packer Donald Driver, artist Vedale Hill and Jimmy V award winner, Coach Rob Mendez.
