Shark on a stick one of new menu items at Wisconsin State Fair

WEST ALLIS -- One of the big draws at the Wisconsin State Fair is the food and there is no shortage of new items on this year's menu.

Officials tell us there are about 70 new tasty treats for thousands to sink their teeth into, including lots of stuff made with bacon.

Foods are also deep fried, including candy bars, drizzled with caramel, powdered sugar and likely come on stick.

Cajun battered shark on a stick is one of two new items Joey's Seafood and Grill in Brookfield will serve up this year.

That's in addition to the nearly dozen other foods that are cooked over the 11-day festival.

Owner Jim Knop said his team came up with the latest idea because it's close to shark week and is calling it the bite back campaign.

He says each year is something exotic.

For example, the eatery served frog legs last year, which some say taste like chicken.

We asked what shark tastes like?

\"It's not unlike Mahi Mahi,\" he said. \"It's a very tough type of fish because it's very muscular, but it has a good flavor.\"

The Original Cream Puff, a Wisconsin State Fair staple, will be available for fair-goers too.

This marks its 90th anniversary the the event.
