Severe Weather Risk Saturday

Take a look at the picture above. The SPC is keeping the western half of our viewing area under a slight risk for severe weather on Saturday evening.

The risk area has been cut back significantly from yesterday, and we do expect it to be trimmed even further over the next 24 hours.

A disturbance aloft will interact with warm surface temperatures and higher dewpoints by Saturday afternoon.  Showers and storms are expected to really blow up to our west and head south of our viewing area.  Some of the model guidance really keeps the majority of the showers and storms to our west.

We are going to include an isolated chance for a shower or storm between 5 pm and Midnight on Saturday.  Storms that do fire could produce hail and gusty winds, and while an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, it really appears those chances will not factor into the viewing area.

We will continue to watch is closely for you!
