Semi carrying 39,000 pounds of sausage rolls over in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A semi carrying thousands of pounds of sausage rolled over in the Town of Wayne after authorities say the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
The crash happened just before 11:00 Sunday night in the median of I-41 south of State Highway 28. The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the trailer was loaded with 39,000 pounds of sausage.
Crews spent most of Monday morning working to offload the sausage so the truck could be up-righted. The semi driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
