Secret to old age? "No chasin' men"

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -- “No drinking, no smoking and no chasing men”. That was the advice Caroline Shillinger, of Spencer shared Friday while celebrating her 100th birthday.

Shillinger and family, including her 80-year-old son celebrated her birthday at 2510 restaurant in Wausau.

The restaurant offers a discount of the person's age on the birthdate. So, Caroline ordered her favorite meal, ribs for free due to the 100 percent discount.

Her son said while she has a little trouble walking, her sharp mind makes up for it.

“If I have trouble remembering something about the past, I just ask her,” he said.

While Caroline's birthday is April 28, a celebration including five generations of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren took place over the weekend.

Caroline said some traveled as far away as Arizona.

Caroline was born in the Athens area. She work on farm and raised five children.
