MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The weather was perfect for a hike through the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center on Saturday, Nov. 2.
As a bonus, it was "Xtreme Raptor Day." Some of the birds of prey at the center were in the spotlight, including a beautiful bald eagle.
Visitors also got close up looks at owls, hawks, and falcons. Educators like Cheyenne Smith were there to tell them why those birds merit your attention.
"They are all really important because they are ecosystem indicators. If the ecosystem is healthy, we have healthy populations of raptors. They help with a lot of balancing prey populations and keeping the environment around us balanced and healthy," said Smith.
A lot of people came out to see the raptors. The parking lots were full. The event helped support the nature center's raptor program.
