Saturday night crash in Palmyra - 2 people killed in rollover

PALMYRA, Wis (CBS 58) -- At around 8:24 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 Jefferson County deputies responded to a single vehicle crash near state highway 106 and Calkins Rd. in the Town of Palmyra.

A report from Sheriff Paul Milbrath details that the driver was traveling northbound on state highway 106 and lost control of the vehicle and began skidding into a ditch. While bounding through the ditch the vehicle then struck a culvert, causing it to overturn and eject one of the two occupants.

According to emergency officials, both people in the vehicle died from their injuries at the scene of the crash.

Jefferson County Sheriffs were assisted at the scene by Palmyra Police Department, Palmyra Fire and EMS, Western Lake EMS, Sullivan Fire and Jefferson County Emergency Communications.

Authorities say this incident is still under investigation.
