San Francisco Giants Acquire Will Smith

The Brewers have made an official announcement on the Will Smith trade reported earlier Monday.

Smith has been swapped to the San Francisco Giants for pitcher Phil Bickford and catcher Andrew Susac. Bickford is a 2015 first round draft pick who was ranked third among prospects in the Giants organization. Susac would conceivably help the Brewers offset the potential loss of Jonathan Lucroy, but as of Monday afternoon, no deal involving Lucroy has been made.

Smith was an effective left-handed reliever in three seasons in Milwaukee, appearing in 181 games and posting a 3.28 ERA.
