WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Six Waukesha County pizza places donated dozens of pizzas for a special lunch in Sentinel Park Friday.
It's a treat for low-income children who have been part of the Waukesha County Salvation Army's summertime Feed the Kids program.
Those with the Salvation Army say it's a little something special for the kids on their last day before heading back to school.Â
"Of course folks will know kids are taken care of during the school year as far as a meal during the lunch hour, but it's during the summertime that we really want to make sure that no child goes without a good meal," said Tim Nauta of the Waukesha County Salvation Army.
Some of the pizzas donated included a three-foot long specialty pizza.Â
Some places donated up to a dozen pizzas for the event.Â
