Rollover Crash Shuts Down I-94 In Pewaukee

Shortly after 9am today, a truck  rolled off I-94 near Pewaukee and caught fire.

The fire from the tractor trailer shut down the interstate at CTH J in both directions as Waukesha Co fire crews rushed to the scene. The driver was uninjured from the accident and had no passengers.

According to the Waukesha Co. Sheriff's Department, due to the fire and a propane tank that was on the tractor trailer, squads began closing both directions of the interstate. City of Waukesha, Town of Brookfield, and Village of Pewaukee Police Departments assisted with closing the interstate.

It took an hour before the fire was put out and I-94 westbound reopened.

There was a large amount of diesel fuel leaking from the tractor trailer, so crews are working to clean up the area before opening the eastbound lanes. Wisconsin DNR assisted in oversight of the clean-up. The Waukesha Co. Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the incident.
