Riverwest Armed Robbery suspects arrested

Two suspects were arrested in connection to the Riverwest armed robbery on August 7, and Milwaukee Police are looking into if they are responsible for other recent armed robberies in the area.
A 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman were walking in the 700 block of E. Center Street around 11:15 p.m. on August 7 when two men approached them.
The suspects were arrested just minutes after the crime happened.  One of the men had a cloth covering an object, that the victim believed was a handgun, and demanded one of the woman’s belongings.  One of the suspects then hit one of the victims and took her wallet, money, and cell phone before fleeing from the scene on foot.  Responding officers from District Five located the two suspects a short time later nearby and arrested them.
While chasing one of the suspects on foot, officers found the stolen wallet and money that had been discarded by the suspects.  The suspects are an 18-year-old Milwaukee man and a 31-year-old Milwaukee man.
