Ribbon Cutting Takes Place at Mexican Consulate
It's been serving the Milwaukee Community for nearly three months now, but today it was made official.
They cut the ribbon at the Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee this afternoon.
There was a lot of talk regarding the economy.
Mexico is the second largest market in Wisconsin's exports, which means according to Governor Scott walker that's why it's important to have a good relationship with the consulate.
The celebration made this consulate official with the ribbon cutting ceremony.
This is the 50th Mexican consulate to open in the country.
This location will help people in 65 counties in Wisconsin who before had to travel to Chicago.
The consulate offers services like birth certificates, visas, ID, power of attorney, among other things.
There were political figures here like Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Governor Walker, community leaders as well as the secretary of foreign affairs who traveled from Mexico to be at this grand opening.
