Ribbon cutting held for grand reopening of Glorioso's Italian Market
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mayor Cavalier Johnson did the honors for the grand reopening of Glorioso's Italian Market on Milwaukee's east side Tuesday, Jan. 20.
The ribbon cutting was a double celebration for the iconic shop's recovery after a fire last October as well as their 80th anniversary.
It's also more than a one-day celebration. Glorioso's plans to offer special anniversary specials and giveaways through the end of February.
Carmine Presta, the owner and president of Glorioso's, is overflowing with gratitude for the employees, vendors, and customers who have built the store's reputation over the decades.
"I have my kids here, they're younger, just to show my kids what the Glorioso family, look what they built. And we have the honor, privilege to keep it going," Presta said. "It means a lot to me to show my young kids, that, you know, that this is what happens when you respect, work hard, dedication, you know, this is how you enjoy life."
During the anniversary celebration, Glorioso's customers can enter for a chance to win a trip for two to Rome.
