Republican party office in Eau Claire County vandalized
Facebook/Republican Party of Wisconsin Eau Claire EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Altoona Police Department is investigating a vandalism graffiti incident at the Republican Party of Wisconsin office in Eau Claire County.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin posted on their Facebook a photograph of their office in Eau Claire County with red spray paint graffiti across their glass doors, reading "pedophile protectors."
CBS 58 reached out to both the Wisconsin Republican and Democratic party for comment on the vandalism. The spokesperson for the Republican party reiterated the statement seen on the initial post about the vandalism.
"Democrats continue to try to intimidate Republicans across the country with violence and vandalism. These actions have no place in politics or our civic discourse,” stated spokesperson Anika Rickard.
Democratic party spokesperson Philip Shulman condemned the Republican statement claiming it irresponsible and dangerous.
"We condemn this unacceptable vandalism no matter where it came from. It is irresponsible and dangerous for Derrick Van Orden and his party to make unsubstantiated claims that can led to retaliation," Shulman wrote.
CBS 58 reached out to law enforcement for more details about the incident. As of Saturday night, no confirmed arrests have been made.
