Reports: Bucks waive injured All-Star Damian Lillard

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania reports that the Milwaukee Bucks have waived guard Damian Lillard in a strategy to generate the financial assets needed to sign center Myles Turner.
Bucks General Manager Jon Horst has never been shy about being aggressive and waiving Damian Lillard in order to bring in Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is another example.
With Lillard, it was a 131-game experiment that never reached the potential that was on paper.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lillard only played two full playoff games together before Lillard tore his achilles in Game 4 of the first-round playoff series with the Indiana Pacers.
Lillard will be 35 years old on July 15. A two-time All-Star while in Milwaukee, Dame averaged 24.6 points a game on 36% 3-point shooting.
With $113 million left on his contract, the Bucks will pay Lillard $22.6 million through 2030 as a part of the move. Lillard can now sign with any team once he clears waivers.
