MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new report shows rent in the Milwaukee metro area has risen by more than 9% since 2019.
This comes as demand for housing across the country remains high, but the supply for affordable housing is very low.
The financial app Stessa tracked rent prices in cities across the US. It found Milwaukee ranked number 36 among large cities where rent has risen the most.
Stessa's report shows Milwaukee's median rent was $988 a month. This year, the median rent has risen to $1,080 a month.
