Report: Driver who plunged off Zoo Interchange ramp was going 77 mph at time of crash

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Wisconsin motor vehicle report from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office shows new details about a crash that sent a pickup truck flying off a ramp in Milwaukee's Zoo Interchange.

The driver, 34-year-old Richard Oliver of Pewaukee, was cited for operating a vehicle while revoked, unreasonable and imprudent speed, and failure to keep the vehicle under control.

The crash happened a little before 10 a.m. on Feb. 6.

The report indicates Oliver entered a ramp from I-94 to south I-41 at 77 miles per hour. That was faster than posted speeds of 55 miles per hour.

Oliver struck the right barrier wall and rode the snowbank, then crossed into traffic. This happened several more times until the truck then went up the snowbank and plummeted 70 feet.

Oliver survived the crash.
