MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A day after the Milwaukee Bucks announced the dismissal of Adrian Griffin, they have reportedly come close to finding their next head coach.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the team is close to finalizing a deal with NBA coach Doc Rivers.
Doc Rivers has a 24-year coaching career in the NBA with stops in Orlando, Boston, Los Angeles Clippers and most recently in Philadelphia. He is ninth all time in the NBA with 1,097 wins during his coaching career.
He won the NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and is 111-104 in the playoffs. He last made the conference finals with the Celtics in 2012 before losing to the Miami Heat in seven games.
Rivers played 13 years in the NBA and starred for Marquette from 1980-83 making the NCAA tournament twice. His No. 31 jersey is retired inside Fiserv Forum.
