MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Victory over Violence Park is being renovated and on Wednesday, Nov. 27, CBS 58 received an update on its progress.
"We want to make sure that it is a place for families to feel comfortable. For families to come and heal. And for kids in this community to have some place nice in their neighborhood," said
The park is located at Martin Luther King Drive and Clarke on the north side. It was created in the 1990s and after it had fallen into some disrepair, city leaders have been working to spruce it up.
They want to turn it into a healing place and a gathering place for community events. The latest phase of the renovation project is scheduled to be finished next July.
