Red Arrow Park Ice Skating Rink to Open Saturday

The Red Arrow Park Ice Skating Rink is scheduled to open at 11:00 AM pending cooperation of the weather.

The rink is at 920 North Water Street.

“Parks staff needs time for the many steps involved in building the rink. This is not something that can be done with the flip of a switch,” said Guy Smith, Chief of Operations.

Chillers lowered the temperature of the concrete. Staff then began building the rink on Wednesday evening.

Throughout the day Thursday and Friday the crew flooded the rink in multiple layers.

Ice  skates maybe rented for $7 per pair for ages 17 and under, and $8 for adults.
