Recent data shows Wisconsin millenials have 3rd lowest credit card debt

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin millenials have the third lowest credit card debt, according to recent data by Experian.

According to Experian, millenials in Puerto Rico carried the least amount of credit card debt of any state with an average balance of $2,906 per person. Mississippi millenials had the second lowest debt with an average credit card balance of $3,887. Wisconsin had the third lowest amount with an average of $3,889.

In Q1 of 2019, millennials across the United States carried an average of $4,712 per borrower, according to Experian.

The top three states with the highest millennial credit card debt were Alaska, Washington D.C., and Hawaii.
