Racine Zoo Hires New Executive Director & "Go to Bat for Kids"

There's a new leader of the pack at the Racine Zoo. The Board of Directors did a nationwide search and chose Beth Heidorn to be the zoo's new Executive Director.

CBS 58's Jessica Tighe sits down with Heidorn to talk about her experience at zoos across the country and the changes she plans to make at the Racine Zoo.

Meanwhile, some kids may be going after Heidorn's job this summer. “If I Ran A Zoo” is one of the summer camps at the Racine Zoo this year. Conservation Specialist, Anna Hill, discusses that summer session and many others as registration is now underway.

Plus, mark it on your calendar. “Go to Bat for Kids” is Thursday, May 7th at Fountain Banquet Hall in Sturtevant.

The wine and beer tasting event/silent auction raises money for “Faith, Hope & Love.” The Racine-based non-profit organization helps kids in crisis.
