Racine Unified modifying school calendar to make up for canceled days due to weather

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Unified School District announced on Tuesday that they will be modifying their calendar to make up for instructional time lost during the record-breaking cold and inclement weather last week.

Here's how the district plans to do that:

  • Friday, Feb. 15 is now a school day (all students grades 4K-12)
  • Monday, Feb. 18 is now a school day (all students grades 4K-12)
  • Thursday, March 7 is now a normal school day (all students grades 4K-12). Each school will host evening hours for parent/teacher conferences
  • Friday, March 8 is now a school day with a 2-hour early release for all RUSD Schools. Each school will host afternoon hours for parent/teacher conferences.

Specific parent/teacher conference schedules will be provided by individual schools.

With this schedule, the last day of school will still be Friday, June 7.
