Racine Suspect Charged for Killing Man over a Woman

A Racine man allegedly killed the father of his female friend’s children after an argument.

Phalon Hunter-Barker was charged with first degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Friday around 2:45 AM in a rear parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue.

The mother of the victim’s children told police the victim confronted her about her relationship with Hunter-Barker at Mr. Koo’s on Washington Avenue.

She allegedly told him they were just friends.

Hunter-Barker and the woman left the bar and headed to Ultra Lounge.

Allegedly, the victim followed them to Ultra Lounge.

They then left Ultra Lounge and the victim allegedly followed them.

Hunter-Barker drove to his mother’s residence on Roosevelt Avenue.

While walking to the apartment building’s door, the victim allegedly showed up out of nowhere and confronted the woman.

He allegedly hit her in the face and she fell to the ground.

While on the ground, she heard gun shots and saw Hunter-Barker shooting the victim.

After the shooting, Hunter-Barker helped her to her feet and they went into his mother’s residence.
