Racine & Me: Teaching Preschool in a Pandemic with Puppets

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lonnie McGuire had to get creative and find ways to teach preschoolers virtually when pandemic restrictions went into place in March 2020. Since then, he has found a new passion in puppets and creating a set with supplies available to him at his home.

“This is the old doorbell. I plug them into here and this is my footswitch so I can turn it on,” said McGuire talking about a piece of the set he created. “This is all made out of just junk I found around.”

McGuire is working in the classroom a few days a week but, for the most part, is working virtually. He said he is excited for students to return to the classroom on March 1.
