RACINE, WI. (CBS 58) -- Cyclists from across the country will once again race through the streets of downtown Racine as the Monument Square Grand Prix returns on Friday, June 19.

The event serves as Day 2 of the Tour of America's Dairyland, one of the nation's largest competitive cycling series.

Race Coordinator Cari Greving joined Racine & Me to discuss the annual event, which brings elite and amateur cyclists to the city for a full day of high-speed competition and community excitement.

The downtown course transforms Monument Square into a spectator-friendly venue where fans can watch riders navigate tight turns and fast straightaways while enjoying the energy of one of Wisconsin's premier cycling events.

The Monument Square Grand Prix is part of the Tour of America's Dairyland, a multi-day cycling series that features races in communities throughout southeastern Wisconsin. The series attracts competitors from across the United States and beyond.

Organizers say the event not only showcases top-level cycling but also highlights downtown Racine and provides a fun experience for residents and visitors alike.

The Monument Square Grand Prix takes place Friday, June 19, in downtown Racine.
