Remembering Officer John Hetland

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the community with the killing of Racine police officer John Hetland. He was shot and killed on June 17th while trying to stop an armed robbery at Teezers Tavern. He was off duty at the time.

This week we look at the legacy Officer Hetland leaves behind. Family members share memories and the community sends its condolences.

We also look back on what happened. Hear from a witness who was inside Teezers when the suspect walked through the door and eventually shot Officer Hetland.

Find out how you can help Officer Hetland’s children in the wake of his death and see how a local kid is providing a ray of sunshine during this dark time for the police department.
