Racine man charged with stealing bike from boy at community center

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 21-year-old man is charged after allegedly stealing a bike from an 11-year-old boy.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the Cesar Chavez Community Center on June 14th for a report of a theft.

Officers spoke with a woman who said her 11-year-old son's bike was stolen. The mother said her son arrived home in tears because his bike was stolen when he was playing basketball. 

Officers reviewed surveillance footage which showed the suspect taking the hike.

He was identified as Aaron Herrick.

Herrick has a previous felony offense.

He was taken into custody.
