Racine Man Charged for Robbing Midtown Market

A Racine man has been charged for the armed robbery of Midtown Market on May 13.

According to the criminal complaint, Curtis McLemore tried to purchase two four packs of beer and a pack of Newport 100 cigarettes.

He tried to use four to five credit cards to purchase and each was declined.

Those declined receipts from the transactions were handed over to the police.

He allegedly pointed a handgun at the cashier and fled on foot.

When officers questioned McLemore he said, “I don’t remember doing a robbery, but if I did, you said I did, ok man, but I don’t remember doing it!”

According to the criminal complaint, McLemore was convicted of robbery in Columbus, Ohio in 1999.
