Racine man arrested on cocaine, marijuana charges

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – A Racine man was arrested early Monday morning on drug charges following a traffic stop.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department says a traffic stop was conducted near State Highway 32 and Chicory Road around 1:11 a.m. for a car that had suspended registration plates.

During the stop, police learned the passenger, 27-year-old Jorge Govea, had a warrant out for child support. Authorities say Govea was acting nervous. Once in custody, authorities smelled marijuana and found sandwich bags in his pockets.

Govea had six wrapped baggies of cocaine weighing 4.2g, four baggies of marijuana weighing 73.2g, a scale and U.S. currency.

Govea was arrested for intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana and taken to the Racine County Jail.
