Racine man arrested for OWI after flipping car, becoming trapped inside


MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man was arrested for OWI after crashing his car.

Mount Pleasant Police were called to the 4200 block of Spring Street for a report of a vehicle that was flipped on its side. It was reported that the driver was trapped inside.

It happened around 2:52 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated by the South Shore Fire Department.

The 41-year-old Racine man was later found to be "extremely intoxicated."

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police also say the man had to be held at the hospital until he could "care for himself."

He is now facing OWI charges.

Mount Pleasant Police notified property owners whose residence was damaged due to this crash.
